1. 🌲💐 🌴 Good Friday 2026 falls on April 03 , Friday. It is during Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday and extends up to Easter Sunday. This sacred day honors the crucifixion of Jesus Christ at Calvary and His holy sacrifice for the redemption and salvation of humanity. According to Christian belief, Jesus endured great suffering and death to atone for the sins of the world, demonstrating unconditional love, forgiveness, and obedience to God.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed his self-enumeration for Census 2027. The Prime Minister also appealed to citizens to self-enumerate their household details themselves and participate in the Census process.
3. J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday (April 1, 2026) said the return of displaced Kashmir Pandits was possible “only after a sense of safety is fully restored” and showed willingness to have a fresh legislation on protection of Hindu shrines and religious sites.
4. Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma said crude availability in the country is normal and refineries are operating at maximum capacity. She noted that government has reduced excise duty, on petrol and diesel to keep prices stable. She said that the Government has made arrangements to ensure adequate crude supply for the next 60 days.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary today said that the Centre and State governments are working in close coordination to strengthen skill development across the country. A leasing agreement has been signed between Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) for a Coal to Ammonium Nitrate Project at Lakhanpur, Odisha. The project reflects India’s push to utilise domestic coal resources for value-added chemical production, particularly in fertilisers and industrial applications.
11. The Ministry of Textiles has extended the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) Scheme for exports of apparel, garments, and made-ups until 30th September 2026. The move aims to sustain India’s competitiveness in global textile markets by ensuring exporters are not burdened with embedded taxes and levies.
12. The Government of Meghalaya has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Starlink India to expand satellite internet connectivity, aiming to improve healthcare, education, and digital access in remote areas.

The move ends the three-capital plan and restores single capital status, effective from June 2, 2024, marking a major political and administrative shift.
14. Gaganyaan astronauts begin Mission Mitra in Ladakh, set to test human limits. India’s human spaceflight ambitions have taken a crucial step forward as four astronauts selected for the Gaganyaan Mission began a unique high-altitude experiment in Ladakh under a programme called Mission Mitra.
*The initiative, led by the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (Isro) Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), aims to simulate the harsh conditions of deep space on Earth.

1. The Delhi High Court on Thursday reserved its judgment in a cheque bounce case filed by a company, M/s Murli Projects Private Limited, against Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav. denies Rajpal Yadav more time to pay dues in cheque bounce case.
2. A court in Delhi has dismissed a criminal defamation complaint filed by Lipika Mitra, wife of Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti, against Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
3. The Supreme Court took a serious note of an incident in West Bengal’s Malda district where seven judicial officials engaged in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise were taken hostage, terming it deplorable. Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident, the court criticised the state administration and sought responses from the state Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other officials over their inaction on the issue.
4. Ahead of the West Bengal Assembly polls, actor and BJP MP Hema Malini has written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla complaining about prevalent “cultural fascism” in the State which she said was negatively impacting livelihoods. 5. The Parliament has passed the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026 after Lok Sabha approved it yesterday with Voice Vote. Rajya Sabha has already passed the bill. The Bill provides for 50 per cent of posts in the CAPFs to be filled by deputation in the rank of Inspector General, and a minimum of 67 per cent of the posts to be filled by deputation in the rank of Additional Director General, and all posts in the ranks of Special Director General and Director General shall be filled by deputation only.
6. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, presented Gallantry and Distinguished Service awards to Indian Naval personnel on behalf of the Hon’ble President of India at the Naval Investiture Ceremony held in Mumbai on 01 Apr 2026.
