1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a special meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review measures taken by various Ministries and Departments and also discussed further initiatives to be taken in the context of the ongoing West Asia conflict, at his residence in New Delhi.
2. The Budget session of Parliament will conclude today. Rajya Sabha is likely to take up the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, for consideration and passing today.
3. The Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, which was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (April 1, 2026), will further strengthen the security system of the country, the Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said, while replying to the debate on the legislation.
4. In Gujarat, the State Election Commission has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming local body elections across the state. Polling for local bodies will take place on the 26th of April, from 7 am to 6 pm, while counting of votes will be held on the 28th of April.
5. In Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the large-scale implementation of the Farmer Registry across the state, emphasizing that the registration of all farmers must be ensured on a priority basis.

7. Government announced the extension of the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) Scheme for exports of apparel, garments and made-ups until September 30, this year, or until the scheme is approved under the 16th Finance Commission cycle, whichever comes earlier.
8. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved robust growth in National Highway Development during the Financial Year 2025-26. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways informed that NHAI constructed over five thousand three hundred kilometres of National Highways, which is about 15% higher than the target of four thousand six hundred forty kilometres for the year.
9. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that 9.25 crore farmer IDs have been created so far across 19 states. The Union Minister held a review meeting with the agriculture ministers of various states.

1. Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain has assumed command as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command on 01 April 2026. He succeeds Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, who has taken over as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff.
2. Yard 1280 (Shachi), the first of eleven Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessels (NGOPVs), was launched at M/s GSL, Goa on 31 Mar 2026 by Mrs Shagun Sobti, in the presence of VAdm Tarun Sobti, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff.
3. Lieutenant General Pushpendra Pal Singh, formerly the Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS) has assumed command as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command on 01 April 2026. He succeeds Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, who superannuated on 31 March 2026.
4. ‘Malwan’, the second of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC) built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi, was delivered to the Indian Navy on 31 Mar 2026.
The vessel has been indigenously designed and constructed by CSL, Kochi to Indian Navy’s specifications in accordance with Classification Rules of DNV.
5. The Ministry of Defence has fully utilised its capital outlay of 1.86 lakh crore rupees for Defence Services in the Financial Year 2025-26 at the revised estimates stage. Overall utilisation of the defence budget, including civil and pensions, stood at 99.62 percent.
The initial allocation of 1.80 lakh crore rupees was later increased due to higher spending and additional requirements after Operation Sindoor.

1. Hong Kong multiplex announces Dhurandhar marathon screening amid global success of Dhurandhar The Revenge.
The event, titled the Dhurandhar Movie Marathon, will bring together Dhurandhar and its sequel in a single extended theatrical presentation lasting nearly nine hours. The screenings are scheduled to take place at Premiere Elements on April 12, with three planned breaks between the films.
