India’s GDP grows 6.1% in Q4, FY23 growth pegged at 7.2%. India’s economy now stands at $3.3 trillion. A pickup in services sector growth led by construction, and trade, hotels, transport sectors along with higher investment supported growth even as private final consumption expenditure registered a muted growth.

CRIME REPORT

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting searches at around 25 locations in Karnataka, Kerala and Bihar in connection with the (PFI) Popular Front of India Phulwarisharif case.

2. Delhi Police on Wednesday recreated the crime scene in Delhi, where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed by her 20-year-old boyfriend. The victim’s three friends were called to join the investigation and their statements have been recorded. The accused allegedly killed the victim as she was ignoring him and had also insulted him in front of her friends.

3. Delhi Deputy DCP Suman Nalwa has said that she can’t give a deadline for the investigation in the case related to the alleged sexual harassment by WFI chief Brij Bhushan Singh. She said that the investigation is still on.

The report highlights a significant rise in the detection of fake Rs 500 notes compared to the previous year. Additionally, it provides insights into the dominance of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 banknotes in terms of value, as well as the prevalence of fake notes in other denominations.
