Jagannath Rath Yatra 2022 – Jagannath Rath Yatra is considered to be the most important festival of the year. Jagannath Rath Yatra is celebrated every year with great pomp and show. This festival is observed on the Shukla Paksha Dwtitiya Tithi in the month of Aashadha. Jagannath Rath Yatra is going to take place in Odisha’ Puri on Friday, 1st July 2022.

1. Health Ministry said that more than 193 crore 53 lakh vaccine doses have been provided to States and UTs so far. India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crosses 197.61 crore.

2. Monsoon Session of the Parliament is scheduled to begin from 18th of July and continue till 12th of August.

4. The Health Ministry has taken various initiatives to streamline Amarnath Yatra for the devotees. Amarnath Yatra has commenced from 30 June and will conclude on 11th August.

5. Environment Ministry organised a meeting with State Govt officials and Municipal Commissioners from 82 non-attainment cities for elimination of identified Single Use Plastic items.

6. Women and Child Development Ministry clarified that the Aadhaar Card of children is not mandatory for availing the benefits of the POSHAN Scheme.

7. The Vice Presidential Election will be held on the 6th of August.

8. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the country has received 8% lesser rainfall than average in June. The IMD has attributed this to 54% lower rainfall as compared to normal in central India.

9. New labour laws allow for 4-day work week, increased PF contribution
Centre seeks to implement new labour laws from July 1, but several states are yet to ratify regulations, which is a must before implementation. Under the new laws, companies can increase timings to 12 hours with three weekly offs. The basic salary will be at least 50% of gross monthly salary which will increase PF contribution but reduce in-hand salary.

10. *ANDHRA PRADESH* : PM Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh’s Bhimavaram town on July 4 to unveil the statue of freedom fighter Alluri Seetarama Raju as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

11. Five women were killed after a high tension wire broke and fell on an auto-rickshaw in Andhra Pradesh’s Sathya Sai district. Six others, including a young girl, who suffered burn injuries were rushed to a hospital.

12. *MAHARASHTRA* : Eknath Shinde takes oath as the 20th CM of Maharashtra; BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis also sworn-in as Deputy CM.

13. *MANIPUR* : CM N. Biren Singh visited Tupul Railway Construction Camp in Noney district where the unfortunate landslide had occurred last night leaving several casualties and dozens buried alive.

14. *PUNJAB* : The Budget Session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha sine die yesterday. There were a total nine sittings during the session.

15. Punjab Police arrested 11 people backed by gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Harvinder Rinda, a police officer said on Thursday.

16. *RAJASTHAN* court has sent the prime accused, Mohammad Riyaz and Gaus Mohammad, in Udaipur beheading case to judicial custody till July 13. The victim, Kanhaiya Lal, was attacked for allegedly supporting suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. NIA, which is probing the case, said some media reports about links of the accused with some terrorist outfit are based on speculation.

17. Muslim organisations in the country have strongly condemned the incident of a brutal murder in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

18. *TAMIL NADU* : Ex-Finance Minister and Opposition’s Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha on Thursday arrived in Chennai to meet CM MK Stalin and other elected representatives of DMK-led alliance to seek support for his candidature. Sinha, who filed his nomination papers on June 27, was received by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and other ministers at airport. Presidential elections will be held on July 18.

19. *TELANGANA* : Jagannath Rath Yatra will resume in Secunderabad on July 1 after a gap of two years due to COVID-19 pandemic. While temple gates will be opened for darshan from 6:30 am to 1 pm, the Yatra will start at 4 pm. The temple has been organising the festival every year for the past 130 years.

20. *UTTAR PRADESH* : CM Yogi Adityanath to take major step towards eradicating unemployment in UP, the State Got is going to issue cards to each and every family. These cards will be known as Family Cards and with the help of these cards govt will identify the families who do not have any govt job or any kind of employment.

1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today released the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP)- 2020 in New Delhi. In the report, seven states have been identified as the top achievers based on implementation of the Business Reforms Action Plan.

The states are Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Punjab, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.

2. The Union Govt has authorised the State Bank of India for issue and encash Electoral Bonds through its 29 Authorized Branches from tomorrow to 10th of July.

3. The Ministry of Finance highlighted that the Electoral Bonds will be valid for fifteen calendar days from the date of issue and no payment will be made to any payee Political Party, if the Electoral Bond is deposited after expiry of the validity period. The Ministry further said that the Electoral Bond deposited by an eligible Political Party in its account will be credited on the same day.

4. All rate changes recommended by 47th GST Council to be made effective from July 18.

ENTERTAINMENT:

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan, who got a clean chit from the NCB in the last year’s drugs-on-cruise case, on Thursday moved a plea before a special NDPS court, seeking return of his passport.

The court directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to file a reply and posted the matter for hearing on July 13.
