Haryana Violence: 3 Dead In Communal Clashes In Nuh
Three people were killed and at least 20 others, including several policemen, were injured Monday as mobs in Haryana’s Nuh district tried to stop a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession, pelting stones and setting cars on fire, officials said.

As news of the clash in Nuh spread, mobs in Sohna pelted stones and set ablaze four vehicles and a shop, belonging to people from that community. Protesters there blocked a road for hours.

1. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall activity will continue over east and east central India during next three days. Heavy rainfall is likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, over Gangetic West Bengal, Karnataka, Jharkhand and Sikkim. The weather office also forecast heavy rainfall over Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during next five days.

2. Both Houses of Parliament have been adjourned for the day following opposition parties’ protest over the issue of violence in Manipur.

6. Chandrayaan-3 will depart from Earth’s orbit between 12 midnight and 1 am on August 1 after the Trans Lunar Insertion (TLI) manoeuvre operation, the official X account of the mission stated. Chandrayaan-3, which is India’s third Moon mission was successfully launched from Sriharikota on July 14. It is expected to land on the lunar surface on August 23.

7. BJP President of Jagat Prakash Nadda attended the Shradhanjali Sabha organized in the memory of Veteran RSS Prachark Madandas Devi in New Delhi and paid his rich tributes to him.

10. The Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey visited a relief camp at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak Sport Complex in Imphal East district and attended the blessing ceremony of newborn babies at the relief camp.

11. The Telangana State Cabinet approved the merger of the TS Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) with the state government. After the merger, 43,372 TSRTC employees will get all the benefits of state government staff. The government will introduce a Bill to this effect in the Monsoon Session of the Assembly, set to begin on August 3.

12. Outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Monday said that today is the last day for filing of nominations for federation’s elections, adding nobody from his family has filed a nomination. Brij Bhushan’s term as WFI president has ended as he has already completed the maximum permitted three terms, over 12 years.

13. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, TRAI, and Centre for Development of Telematics have signed Memoradum of Understanding to establish mechanism of technical and institutional cooperation in telecommunications.

14. Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apurva Chandra will hold additional charge as a Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.

15. Former Kerala speaker and senior Congress leader Vakkom Purushothaman passed away at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram. He was 95.

1. Enforcement Directorate has provisionally attached six immovable assets worth over six crore rupees in the alleged Railway job for land scam.

2. A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable on Monday shot dead four persons on board a running train near Palghar railway station in Maharashtra, an official said. Constable Chetan Kumar Choudhary fired from his automatic weapon, killing an RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and three other passengers of the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express shortly after 5 am.

3. HOME GUARD KILLED, DSP SUSTAINS HEAD INJURY AMID CLASHES IN HARYANA’S NUH:
A home After a deadly communal clash in Haryana’s Nuh, unrest was also reported in neighbouring Gurugram on Monday, with a mob pelting stones and torching some shops and a car in Sohna. Section 144 was imposed in Gurugram and the border with Nuh was sealed, authorities said. At least two home guards were killed in the Nuh clash.

A pro-Khalistani slogan written outside the SDM office in Mandi Dabwali in Haryana was spotted on Monday. Banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) claimed responsibility for the graffiti which said, “Haryana banega Khalistan (Haryana will become Khalistan)”.

Mobile internet services in Haryana’s Nuh district have been suspended till August 2 .

4. AGMUT cadre IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai, who demolished a 15th-century “Pathan period” Mahal and constructed a government accommodation in its place, has been suspended. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notice suspending Rai, who is the former Delhi Jal Board CEO.

5. Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday seized assets of former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family worth ₹6 crore in connection with the land-for-jobs scam. Lalu Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and Tejashwi Yadav are alleged to have received land at discounted rates or as gifts in exchange for Group D appointments in Railways between 2004 and 2009.

6. The angle of an alleged “international conspiracy” behind Indian woman Anju marrying Pakistan’s Nasrullah, will be examined by MP Police, state Home Minister Narottam Mishra has said.

1. Parliament passes Cinematograph (Amendment) Bill, 2023 prohibiting unauthorized recording and exhibition of films.

2. Bringing laurels to the country the movie Champaran Mutton produced by a pupil of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune has reached to the semifinals for the prestigious Students Academy Awards category. The award is given by Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

3. Karan Johar’s directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ earned ₹45.90 crore on its opening weekend at the domestic box office. As per film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, it collected ₹11.10 crore, ₹16.05 crore and ₹18.75 crore on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

4. Janhvi Kapoor will be seen alongside Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan will play the role of the antagonist. ‘Devara’ marks the debut of Janhvi in the Telugu film industry. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is slated for a pan-India theatrical release on April 5, 2024.

5. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has suggested changing Akshay Kumar’s role of Lord Shiva in ‘OMG 2’. It has suggested that Akshay’s character should be changed to messenger of Lord Shiva. Apart from the change in character, the censor board has also demanded 19 other cuts and deletions.
