PM modi urgues Citizens to turn out in a large number for the voting of sixth phase of Lok sabha election

BHOPAL 25 MAY 2024, Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 6: sixth- phase of polling for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 commenced at 7:00 am today (May 25), Prime Minister Narendra Modi encouraging voters to come out in a big numbers and exercise their franchise.

He posted on X, the Prime Minister said “I urge all those who are voting in the sixth phases of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to vote in huge numbers. Every vote counts, make yours count too! Democracy thrives when its people are engaged and active in the electoral process. I especially appeal to women voters and our youth voters to vote in huge numbers.”

The Union Home Minister also urged citizens to turn out and vote against appeasement and corruption.

Amit Shah posted on his “X” account “Today, I appeal to my brothers and sisters voting in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh to choose a government that has fulfilled every promise made to you and has given you gas, roads, electricity and ration as well as freed you from the worries of medical expenses. Be sure to vote to end the nexus of appeasement, nepotism and corruption from the state forever,” he stated

The sixth phase of polling of the Lok Sabha election will take place in 58 constituencies from six states and two union territories with over 11.13 crore voters cast their ballots to decide the fate of 889 candidates including two former Chief Ministers – Manohar Lal Khattar competing as the BJP candidate from Karnal and Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP nominee from Anantnag-Rajouri.The sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls includes one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, and eight in West Bengal, six in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh. 42 assembly constituencies in Odisha will take place for polls in the sixth phase.

Key candidates of Phase 6 polling

The state is holding Assembly elections at the same time as the Lok Sabha elections. Some notable candidates include Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Bansuri Swaraj, Somnath Bharti, Manoj Tiwari, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, Kanhaiya Kumar, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias ‘Nirahua’, Dharmendra Yadav, Naveen Jindal, Raj Babbar, Deepender Singh Hooda, Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Agnimitra Paul, Kumari Selja and Aparajita Sarangi are among other crucial candidates in the fray.

According to the ECI, Around 11.13 crore voters, including 5.84 crore men , 5.29 crore women, and 5120 third-gender electors will decide the fate of 889 candidates today. The ECI resorts also said that there are over 8.93 lakh registered voters aged 85+ years old, 23,659 voters above 100 years and 9.58 lakh PwD voters for phase 6 will have the option to comfortably vote from their houses. Approximately , 11.4 lakh election workers will welcome over 11.13 crore voters across 1.14 lakh polling stations.
