3. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has arrested two Thai citizens while they were trying to enter Nepal through the Kharibari area of the Indo-Nepal border near Panitanki. The two women, Pimchanok Ketla and Chintara Buddhafang, were caught yesterday when SSB personnel discovered they were using fake immigration stamps to gain entry into Nepal. The accused are being produced before the Siliguri Subdivisional Court.
4. An oil tanker carrying sorely needed petroleum for India has cleared the Strait of Hormuz, according to several sites that track maritime traffic.

1. Indirect diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Iran have advanced significantly as both sides review a tentative sixty-day memorandum of understanding to extend the current ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
2. The World Health Organization said that there were 906 suspected cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), including 223 suspected deaths that were being investigated. The United States, Mexico and Canada issued a trilateral statement on public health travel measures for individuals arriving from African regions in the wake of the Ebola virus outbreak in parts of Africa.
3. Ukraine and Sweden have signed a declaration aimed at deepening defence cooperation in a move that will see Kyiv receive a new military aid package worth 2.7 billion Euros. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said at a joint press conference yesterday that Ukraine will buy 20 new Gripen fighter jets from Sweden.
