1. The Ministry of External Affairs has reiterated that the entire Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, including areas under Pakistan’s illegal and forcible occupation, are integral and inalienable parts of India.

The Ministry’s Fact Check Unit said that the ongoing electoral exercise in the Pakistan-occupied region is merely a cosmetic attempt by Pakistan to camouflage its illegal occupation and divert attention from the grave human rights violations in the region.

2. India has strongly condemned recent attacks on several maritime vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that targeting commercial shipping and civilian infrastructure in the region must end. Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish, said that after a brief pause in the ongoing conflict in the region.

3. The Embassy of India in Kyiv, Ukraine, has said that the situation regarding MV AMIR1, with Indian seafarers onboard, is its highest priority. The Embassy said it is in constant touch with all concerned to ensure the safety and security of all Indians onboard.

4. Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha sent 600 premium Queen variety pineapples as a goodwill gesture to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tareq Rahman.

5. Assam exported its first international consignment of dairy products to Bhutan on 28 July 2026. The 5,627-litre consignment consisted of Purabi ice cream, which is produced in Assam and supplied to Bhutanese markets.

6. Bangladesh has confirmed that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has received an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.

1. The UN Human Rights Office has voiced concern over Islamabad’s crackdown on peaceful protesters in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Over 40 civilians were killed and several others injured in the firing by Pakistani forces on protesters during a march organised by the Joint Awami Action Committee from Rawalakot to Muzaffarabad.

2. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) claimed that its Aerospace Force targeted a US air base and the US Central Command (CENTCOM) headquarters in Jordan with ballistic missiles.

3. President Donald Trump held separate meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. Both meetings took place behind closed doors in the Oval Office.

4. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) charged Pavel Durov, the founder and owner of Telegram, with aiding terrorist activities under Article 205.1, Part 1.1 of the Russian Criminal Code on 29 July 2026. The FSB also placed him on an international wanted list.
