1. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Both Ministers had a detailed conversation about various aspects of the current situation in West Asia.

2. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has described India-New Zealand free trade agreement, FTA as a once-in-a-generation opportunity, underscoring the scale and potential of the Indian market.

3. The 5th India-Russia Working Sub-Group Meeting on After Sales Support, Pricing and Contracts concluded yesterday in New Delhi. In a social media post, the Ministry of Defence said that the meeting was co-chaired by Joint Secretary Dinesh Kumar in the Defence Ministry and Deputy Chief, Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Russia Sergey Yashin.

1. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is facing questioning from lawmakers for the first time since President Donald Trump launched the war against Iran. Democrats have contested the war as a costly conflict of choice waged without congressional approval.

2. In the United States, severe thunderstorms tore through parts of Texas, leaving a trail of destruction. Powerful winds ripped roofs off homes, flattened buildings and hurled debris into the air.

3. US Senate Republicans rejected legislation from Democrats that would have required President Donald Trump to end the US energy blockade on Cuba unless he received approval from Congress.
