1. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar attended the working session of the informal meeting of EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Gymnich) in Cyprus.
2. India and Singapore explored new avenues to strengthen strategic ties during 16ᵗʰ India-Singapore Defence Policy Dialogue in Singapore. During the dialogue, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Defence Secretary of Singapore, Joseph Leong reviewed the progress of ongoing defence engagements.
3. The President of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, will be on a five-day visit to India from Saturday.
4. India and China reviewed the situation in border areas and expressed satisfaction with progress made in maintaining peace and tranquillity. The two countries reviewed the situation during the 35th meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC).
5. On a special initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sacred relics from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Sanchi Stupa are being sent to Mongolia. These relics belong to two of Lord Buddha’s most prominent disciples, Sariputra and Maudgalyayana.
6. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the ties between India and Australia continue to deepen through culture, education, cricket and trade and that he looks forward to hosting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the near future.
In his address at the Australian Parliament, Mr. Albanese highlighted India’s economic growth and emphasised that the trade relationship between the two nations has been further enhanced by the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA).
7. India has sent emergency pharmaceutical supplies to support efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in Congo, Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said.
8. India and the Republic of Korea held the 12th round of negotiations for upgrading the India-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IK CEPA) in New Delhi from 25 to 27 May 2026. The talks followed a Joint Declaration signed on 20 April 2026 during the South Korean President’s state visit to India.

1. Israel’s Attorney General has said that a close adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will face criminal prosecution for allegedly leaking secret information to a German newspaper with the intent of harming the country’s security.
2. Israeli military has issued evacuation orders for large parts of southern Lebanon, declaring the areas combat zones ahead of fresh strikes against Hezbollah. Israel Defence Forces (IDF) urged residents to move north of the Zahrani River, about 40 km from the border.
3. The fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran has suffered its most serious rupture, with both sides exchanging direct military strikes near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
4. The International Monetary Fund has approved a US$695 million disbursement to Sri Lanka under its Extended Fund Facility programme despite breaches of two key conditions linked to external payments and import controls.
5. In Pakistan, five people were killed and three others injured after unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a group of locals in the Shahrag area of Balochistan’s Harnai district.
6. Russia and Kazakhstan signed an agreement on 28 May 2026 for the construction of Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant. The project is estimated at about $16.5 billion, and Russia is expected to finance around 85% through an export loan.
