1. Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has requested Bharat for debt relief measures, while stating that Bharat will continue to remain Maldives’ “closest ally,” local media reported.

He further claimed that he has “not taken any action nor made any statements” that may strain the relationship between the two countries.

2. PM Modi condemned the terror attack inside a packed concert hall in Moscow on Saturday, calling it a ‘heinous act’ and expressing solidarity with the Russian government and its people.The ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack at the concert venue complex near Moscow Friday.

1. An earthquake of 6.9 magnitude struck a remote part of northern Papua New Guinea in early hours of Sunday (local time), the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

2. Following the deadly firing at the Crocus City concert hall near Moscow, Russia’s Investigative Committee has claimed that the death toll has been confirmed at 115 people and warned that this figure is likely to rise, Russian state news agency, RT News reported.

3. The UK and Japan have condemned the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall near Moscow and extended sympathies to the families of the victims.

4. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recommended reinstating an 18 per cent general sales tax (GST) on petrol during the ongoing discussions with the government for the release of the last tranche of its bailout package.

The IMF has proposed increasing the levy on petrol by Pakistani currency (PKR) 60 and reinstating the 18 per cent GST previously abolished in March 2022.

5. Prominent Baloch Rights organisation, Baloch National Movement (BNM), announced the schedule of protests and marches to denounce the Black Day of 27 March, the day Pakistan forcibly occupied Baluchistan in 1948.

6. Simon Harris is an Irish politician who is the current favourite to become Ireland’s next Prime Minister (Taoiseach) following the surprise resignation of Leo Varadkar. Harris, 37, is currently the Minister for Further and Higher Education and has been a member of the Fine Gael party since his youth.
