1. Prime Minister Modi also met Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini in Bratislava.
India and Slovakia elevated their ties to a comprehensive partnership.

The two sides also inked 11 agreements to boost cooperation in key areas including labour migration, digital technology and defence following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico in Bratislava.

This is the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its Independence in 1993.

2. The French city of Evian is all set to host the 52nd G7 Summit. The meeting is getting underway as the US and Iran have finalised a deal to end the West Asia conflict.

3. French President Emmanuel Macron will formally welcome leaders of the G7 countries which include the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy and Japan, along with the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission.

4. India has welcomed the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia and open the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway used to ferry one-fifth of the global oil supplies.

5. A Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier, Disha, safely transited through the Strait of Hormuz. It is the first Indian LNG tanker to cross the war-hit narrow shipping lane since the war in the Middle East broke out. The LNG carrier carrying 62 thousand 370 metric tons of LNG and managed by a Shipping Corporation of India-led consortium and chartered by Petronet LNG Ltd.

1. A B-52 bomber crashed shortly after takeoff at a US Air Force base in Southern CaliforniaтАЩs Mojave Desert, killing all eight people. The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range bomber that entered service in 1955. It is designed to carry both conventional and nuclear weapons.

2. The UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution calling on AfghanistanтАЩs Taliban rulers to swiftly reverse their crackdown on women and to combat various groups inside Afghanistan. The resolution extends the UN political mission in Afghanistan until June 17 next year.
