1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu was conferred with the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law by the University of Mauritius. This prestigious honor demonstrates the depth of bilateral ties between India and Mauritius. President Smt. Murmu departs from Mauritius after completing her 3-Day official visit.

2. Amid the diplomatic face-off between India and Canada over Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations of an India role in the killing of a Khalistani terrorist, a key ally of Ottawa has questioned the lack of evidence of New Delhi’s involvement.

3. A Chinese military delegation visited the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Nepal to discuss defence cooperation, aiming to strengthen ties and counter India’s influence in the region. The visit follows the signing of a “military assistance” deal between China and the Maldives, which recently ordered Indian troops to leave.

4. INDIA, RUSSIA IN TALKS TO DEVELOP ‘WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL FUSION REACTOR : India and Russia are in discussions to collaborate on a range of activities including research on controlled thermonuclear fusion and joint development of the transit potential of the Northern Sea route.

5. New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister, Winston Peters, who is on an official visit to India, emphasized the significance of India to his country and highlighted the importance of the meetings for strengthening bilateral relations.

Three additional vessels from China are scheduled to arrive at the Vizhinjam seaport next month, bringing a total of 17 cranes for the international deep-sea facility being constructed at a cost of ₹7,700 crore, according to a statement by the Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd (VISL). The ships are expected to reach the Vizhinjam coast on April 4th, 17th, and 23rd.

1. A rocket made by a Japanese company exploded just after launch on Wednesday. Tokyo-based start-up Space One had been aiming to become the first Japanese private firm to successfully place a satellite into orbit. 18-meter (60-foot) solid-fuel Kairos rocket blasted off from the start-up’s own launch pad in Wakayama prefecture in western Japan, carrying a small government test satellite.

2. Georgia Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee dismissed six of the 41-count indictment charges against Former US President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants.

3. At least two people were killed and 26 more were injured after a massive blast, suspected to be a gas explosion, ripped through a residential neighbourhood in northern China on Wednesday.

4. At least 50 people were injured on board a Boeing 787-9 flight from Sydney to Auckland operated by Chilean airline LATAM, after the aircraft experienced a technical issue that caused it to suddenly lose altitude.

5. Paul Alexander, who lived in an iron lung for 70 years, dies at age of 78 on 11 March. Paul Alexander, a North Texas man who lived in an iron lung for most of his life.

Paul Alexander was diagnosed with polio in 1952 during an outbreak in Dallas at just 6 years old. The disease paralyzed him from the neck down and could not breathe on his own. Doctors put Paul Alexander in an iron lung, a mechanical respirator that controls the air pressure around his body to help his lungs expand.

6. A Bangladeshi-flagged cargo vessel, MV Abdullah, carrying coal and manned by 23 crew members has been hijacked by Somalian pirates in the Indian Ocean near Somalia coast.

The ship was heading for Dubai from Mozambique’s Maputo port when the pirates attacked. This is the second instance of a Bangladeshi-flagged ship hijacked by Somali pirates.

7. Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ received 157 votes & Wins Parliamentary Vote Of Confidence.

8. The US will send 300 million dollars in military weapons to Ukraine, including ammunition, rockets, and anti-aircraft missiles. The surprise announcement came, as a bill in Congress to send further aid to Ukraine stalls amid partisan debate.

9. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West that Russia is technically ready for nuclear war and if the U.S. sent troops to Ukraine it would be considered a significant escalation of the war.

10. Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry has tendered his resignation. It comes after regional leaders met in Jamaica on Monday to discuss a political transition in the Caribbean country.
