1. India has deeply regretted the renewed attacks in West Asia as Israel and Iran traded fresh missile attacks yesterday triggering escalation in the region and jeopardizing the ceasefire. India has called on all parties to immediately de-escalate tensions and ensure that civilians are not harmed.

The Indian Embassy in Iran has also advised Indian nationals to avoid any travel to Iran, in view of the recent developments in the region.

2. Uttarakhand’s management model received recognition at the second technical meeting of the BRICS Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group in Puri, Odisha, from 3 to 5 June 2026. The meeting was held under India’s presidency and included officials, technical experts, and policymakers from 11 BRICS member and partner countries.

3. The Bonn Climate Conference, also called SB64, is being held from 8 June to 18 June 2026 as the 64th sessions of the Subsidiary Bodies under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Health advocates at the meeting have called for public, grant-based adaptation finance to be tripled to at least $120 billion by 2035.

4. India’s consumer grievance redressal system has achieved the milestone with the e-Jagriti platform received the Silver Award at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026. It is developed by the Department of Consumer Affairs and this AI-powered platform has transformed the consumer justice delivery by creating the unified, paperless, and technology-driven ecosystem.

5. The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has released its Yearbook 2026, India has expanded the its nuclear arsenal to an estimated 190 warheads and it strengthens the lead over the Pakistan which now possess the 170 around warheads.

6. A high-level delegation of the European Union yesterday visited the upcoming semiconductor assembly and testing facility being developed by Tata Electronics at Jagiroad in Assam’s Morigaon district.

1. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan claimed victory in a general election held on 7 June 2026. Preliminary results released on 8 June 2026 placed his governing Civil Contract party in first place with 49.82% of the vote.

2. World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is currently in Uganda to personally assess the country’s readiness to respond to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and to support enhanced cross-border coordination.

3. Nepal’s Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee of the National Assembly has instructed the Home Ministry to seek a long-term solution to the border dispute between Humla and Bajura districts. Humla lies in Karnali Province, and Bajura lies in Sudurpaschim Province in northwestern Nepal.

5. In the United States, a federal judge has ruled that the fee of 1 lakh US dollars for H-1B applications imposed by President Donald Trump was unlawful. US District Court judge Leo Sorokin in Boston, Massachusetts, said in a ruling that the Policy imposes a tax on H-1B petitions without the requisite delegation by the Congress.
