1. A delegation led by New Zealand High Commissioner Patrick Rata met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant contribution of apple production to Himachal’s economy.
2. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has highlighted India’s food security measures and reaffirmed commitment to multilateral trading system. 3. Captain Smit Machchhar, who was injured in the flydubai flight incident, is in stable condition and recovering well, said India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Dr Deepak Mittal.

During the flight, a serious cockpit incident occurred involving the co-pilot, and Machchhar was injured. The aircraft was diverted and made an emergency landing at Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, with passengers and crew safe.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, that Saudi authorities have arrested the pilot of a Flydubai flight who allegedly stabbed another pilot and attempted to crash the aircraft carrying Israeli passengers.
UAE Attorney-General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi has ordered the formation of an investigation team to probe the incident, including any possible connection to terrorist activity or intent, involving Flydubai flight FZ1073 that forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised Captain Smit Machchhar as a “true hero” for saving lives while piloting a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight despite sustaining serious injuries.

4. The ninth Deputy National Security Adviser-level meeting of the Colombo Security Conclave, CSC, was hosted virtually by India yesterday. The meeting was attended by representatives from Bangladesh, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and Seychelles.
5. Bangladesh has announced a five-day break for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja, with the official festival holiday extended to three days. Combined with the regular Friday and Saturday weekend, the decision will provide a total five-day holiday.
6. Governor Gavin Newsom has approved the Assembly Bill 1267 (AB 1267), which bans child marriage in California as of September 30, 2026. The legislation establishes the minimum marriage and domestic partnership ages at 18 years old with no exceptions.
