How you both met : We kept meeting at various nationals but never spoke too we started speaking properly when vir started training at the same club as me in 2015
How many years of relationship before both of you got married : 2 years
Who proposed for marriage : There was no official Both of us just knew when it was time and decided to take the plunge.
Whom do you give credit of your relationship (if you both do) :
- Ghar pe kis ki chaltee hai : rujuta
- Swimming pool mein kis ki chaltee hai : virdhawal
What kind of pressure (if any) you both experienced being in relationship and continuing your sporting career /sport :
There is no pressure on our relation at all because of swimming. I think because we have both been swimmers for a long time we understand what the sport demands. A lot of the time we don’t need to tell each other how we feel or what’s happening and what needs to be done. Our sport has made all this much easier for us.
What challenges do you think a couple faces in a sporting career (if any) :
No challenges as such that we can think . I guess if there was one thing we’d like to point out is that it is important to communicate when necessary and it is important to be reasonable and understanding towards each other. It is also important for the male to help around at home (thankfully Vir has stayed alone for years and he has taken care of himself so i don’t have to do it for him)
What is the message you would like to give as a sports couple:
Treat your partner the way you want your partner to treat you.
