Simple Things

The wet grass….
An interference.

The simple things….
Are not simple indeed.

The smile of gratitude
The touch of a familiar hand
The sound of reminiscence
The sight of a wise man.

A sight for sore eyes,
Becomes needless.
The sound of solace,
Seedless.

But simple things,
Are quite simple indeed!

The occasional hello.
The hard goodbyes.
The spring dances.
The wintery slide!

An evening in solitude
Or cheering crowds.
The common grounds
The Mary-go-round.

These simple things,
Are very simple indeed.
When we choose to see them
Is the true path to Heed
