Mumbai witnessed a special screening of Batwara 1947, hosted by Abhimanyu Singh and Sargam Singh, ahead of the film’s release. The screening brought together members of the film fraternity and invited guests to experience the much-awaited Partition drama.
Starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh and others, the film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan
The evening saw the cast and guests come together to celebrate the film and its powerful story set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition. To name a few were Makarand Vinayak Deshpane, Paritosh Tripathi, Anjumm Shharma, Shaarib Sabri, Toshi Sabri, Tanisha Santoshi, Prashant Virendra Sharma, Mitali Nag & Many More
Set against the backdrop of one of the most defining and poignant chapters in Indian history, Batwara 1947 explores the human stories and emotions surrounding the Partition. The film seeks to revisit the era through a deeply personal lens, bringing to the forefront stories of resilience, relationships, loss and hope.
Speaking about the screening, Abhimanyu Singh who stars in the film playing a pivotal role said, “Batwara 1947 is a story that comes from a very important chapter of our history. While the events of Partition are known to everyone, the personal stories and emotions of the people who lived through it are equally important. We have tried to tell this story with honesty and sensitivity, and it is deeply fulfilling to finally share the film with audiences”
