“Ye sirf 5 gaane nahi hain, ye meri duniya hai,” says Dhvani as she opens up about the music she will release over the next three months
For seven years, audiences have known Dhvani Bhanushali through her songs. With FEELS, she is now ready to let them know a little more about the person behind them.
Dhvani took to social media to announce her upcoming five-track EP, revealing a project shaped by thoughts and emotions she has collected over the years around family, dreams, insecurities, decisions and conversations with herself that haven’t always found their way into her music.
Unlike approaching the project simply as a collection of songs, Dhvani describes FEELS as pieces of her life that gradually became music.
“Pichhle 7 saalon mein, you heard my songs, but you never really heard me the real stuff,” shares Dhvani.
Opening up about what led her to the EP, she adds, “Kuch cheezein jo log mujhse kehte hain, kuch cheezein jo main apne aap se kehti hoon, kuch cheezein jo mujhe bahut pehle kar leni chahiye thi, kuch cheezein jo maine kabhi kari hi nahi maine ye saari baatein likhi, not as my album but as pieces of my life. Ab main ye sab aapke saath share karna chahti hoon. 5 songs over the next three months. 5 different moods, 5 different fears and 5 different versions of me and maybe you. Ye sirf 5 gaane nahi hain, ye meri duniya hai.”
The five songs from FEELS will arrive over the next three months, each revealing a different mood and a different side of Dhvani. While she is keeping the music and collaborations under wraps for now, the first announcement sets the tone for a project that appears less concerned with presenting a new persona and more interested in revealing the person who has always been there.
For an artist whose music has been heard by millions over the years, FEELS begins with a surprisingly simple invitation: this time, listen a little closer.
