THE INDIAN RUPEE SYMBOL (₹)
The official symbol for the Indian Rupee (₹) was adopted by the Government of India on 15 July 2010.
It was designed by Udaya Kumar, combining the Devanagari letter “र” and the Roman capital “R”. The symbol represents India’s rich cultural heritage and growing economic strength.
