 Meaning of Varanasi
The name Varanasi comes from two rivers: Varuna + Asi

Varuna – a river flowing on one side of the city
Asi – a smaller river on the other side

📍 So, Varanasi means “the land between the Varuna and Asi rivers.”

🌟 Other Names
Kashi – means “the city of light” ✨
Banaras – a popular traditional name

🛕 VEDIK GYAN 

VISHVAMITRA is one of the most powerful and respected sages (rishis) in Hindu tradition. His life story is all about hard work, determination, and transformation.

👑 From King to Sage
He was originally a king (Kshatriya) named Kaushika

After a conflict with sage Vashistha, he decided to gain spiritual power

Through intense meditation and penance (tapasya), he became a Brahmarishi (highest sage)

In the Ramayana, he guided young Rama and Lakshmana
He taught them divine weapons (astra-vidya)

Composer of the famous Gayatri Mantra
Created a parallel heaven called Trishanku Swarga
