Mahmud of Ghazni was a Turkish conqueror who attacked India 17 times between 1000 to 1027 AD. The biggest invasion of Mahmud of Ghazni was in 1027 AD wherein he invaded the Somnath temple in Gujarat. In all his 17 invasions, a number of dynasties were conquered by him.
