In a repeat of last year, Carlos Alcaraz has beaten 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic to win the gentlemen’s singles title at Wimbledon.
In 2023 the Spaniard needed five sets and more than four hours to get past the seven-time Wimbledon champion.
This year, Alcaraz finished the job – on his 4th match point – in straight sets, taking just two hours and 27 minutes to secure his second Wimbledon title and fourth Grand Slam overall.
For the record, Alcaraz won the French Open two months back and will head to the Paris Olympics high on confidence.
