3. ASIAN TRACK CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS : Sarita Kumari showcased her talent in the junior women’s category, securing a bronze medal in the final race while clocking 36.966 seconds in the Asian Track Cycling Championships in New Delhi on Friday.
4. Indian women’s hockey team chief coach Janneke Schopman resigned on Friday, days after creating a furore by claiming that she was not valued and respected enough by the national federation. The Dutch coach had taken over the reins of the women’s team in 2021 from Sjoerd Marine.
5. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) said on Friday it has dismissed an appeal from Russia against an International Olympic Committee (IOC) suspension for recognising regional organisations from territories annexed from Ukraine.
The IOC banned the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) in October for recognising regional Olympic councils for Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine – Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia.
