1. PM Modi visit to UAE: Indian diaspora gives warm welcome to PM Modi in Abu Dhabi, eagerly await BAPS mandir inauguration. PM Modi will be in the UAE from February 13-14, after which he will proceed to Doha.
Prime Minister of India also interacted with the first batch of students from the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi Campus and appreciated the project for bringing the students of two countries together.
2. PM Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a bilateral meeting, and several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged in their presence on Tuesday.
3. Multiple memoranda of understanding, including an MoU on interlinking of the instant payment platforms – UPI and UAE’s AANI, were exchanged between India and the United Arab Emirates in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayan.
PM Modi addressed the ‘Ahlan Modi’ (or ‘Hello Modi’) event at Zayed Sports City Stadium.
4. Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, on Monday met with ASEAN Secretary General Kao Kim Hourn, who is in India on his maiden official visit.
5. Maldives has deported 43 Indians who were allegedly found to have committed crimes. Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, deported 186 foreigners from 12 nationalities but none from China. Muizzu is considered pro-China. The highest number of people were deported to Bangladesh (83) followed by India (43), Sri Lanka (25), and Nepal (8). It is, however, not known when they were deported.
6. China overtook Russia and Italy to grab the first spot on the Maldives tourism chart in February 2024. China crawled up from the third position to the first on the list of “Top 10 Markets 2024”, as per a daily report released by the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism. China took over India. On 21 January 2024, in terms of the number of tourist arrivals in the Maldives. India slipped to the fifth position.

2. China has officially opened the Qinling Station in Antarctica. This significant development marks a new chapter in China’s scientific exploration and research in the Antarctic region.
3. In Pakistan🇵🇰, United Kashmir People’s National Party organised a rally against the government in Muzaffarabad injustices and poor living conditions.The protesters demanding free electricity, subsidies on flour, wheat, and essential food items, and ownership of natural resources.
4. Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of Parliamentary Affairs (MPA), Chaudhry Muhammad Adnan, was gunned down by unidentified assailants in Rawalpindi.
5. In the latest attack, the Iranian-backed Houthi militants fired two missiles from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen towards the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated.
6. US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin has been released from hospital and resumed his duties, informed the Pentagon on Tuesday (Feb 13). Austin was admitted to the critical care unit at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Sunday (Feb 11) where he underwent treatment for bladder issues.
7. At least 30 people have been killed in renewed violence in Nigeria’s central plateau state, where clashes between Muslim herders and Christian farming communities have erupted for years.
8. Dubai to have world’s first air taxi, agreements inked at World government summit 2024. The agreements pave the way for Dubai to pioneer the deployment of a city-wide electric aerial taxi service and vertiport network.
