13. CAA WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BEFORE 2024 POLLS: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), enacted in 2019, will be implemented before the Lok Sabha polls after issuing the rules in this regard.
“Our Muslim brothers are being misled and instigated (against the CAA). The CAA is only meant to give citizenship to those who came to India after facing persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. It is not for snatching anyone’s Indian citizenship,” he said.
14. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Port Blair on February 19 on a five-day visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands, an official said on Saturday. This will be Murmu’s first visit to the archipelago after becoming the President of India in 2022.

1. The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the petition filed by BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy seeking to delete the words ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’ from the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Dutta posted the matter in the week commencing from April 29.

3. Haryana government on Saturday ordered the suspension of mobile internet services and bulk SMS in seven districts ahead of farmers’ proposed ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on February 13.
Haryana’s Home Affairs department announce that suspends Mobile internet services in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa. Order will be in effect from 6 am of 11th February to 11:59 pm of 13th February.

UPI is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

1. Veteran actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata on Saturday morning. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain.
2. Renowned artist A Ramachandran died from prolonged illness at his residence here on Saturday. He was 89. Ramachandran will be cremated at Lodi Road crematorium on Monday at 2.30 pm. . In 2002, he was elected a Fellow of the Lalit Kala Akademi and received the Padma Bhushan for outstanding service to the nation in 2005.

1. Indian Navy Chief Admiral R Hari Kumar inaugurated a new radar system along with other facilities at INS Utkrosh in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands during his 3-day visit to the strategic Tri-Services Command to strengthen Andaman and Nicobar Command’s (ANC) security apparatus.
2. The Precision Approach Radar (PAR) at INS Utkrosh, located on South Andaman Island, along with the facilities manufactured domestically by a company in Chennai, will provide highly accurate horizontal and vertical guidance to safely land aircraft during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain and fog. Additionally, the Integrated Underwater Harbour Defence and Surveillance System (IUHDSS) was also inaugurated at Naval Jetty, Port Blair, to augment the security apparatus of Port Blair.
3. Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff, paid a visit to the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT) in Girinagar, Pune, on February 9. During the visit, he engaged with all participants of the 6th Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC).

Indian Air Force on Saturday informed that it has signed a contract with state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of software-based light weight man-portable radio communication sets. The indigenously developed communication sets will use components implemented by the means of software as against the conventional ones that use analogue hardware for the purpose.
5. Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Samarth’ has successfully conducted a comprehensive demonstration of pollution response at sea.

RUDRAM-3 WILL HAVE A GROUND ATTACK VARIANT WITH PENETRATION-CUM-BLAST (PCB) WARHEAD: Rudram is a series of air-to-surface ground attack and anti-radiation missiles in development by the Defence Research and Development Organisation of India. It can be launched from a range of altitudes with large standoff distance for destroying enemy surveillance radars, communication stations and bunkers.
