1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate a four-day cultural extravaganza, “Vividhta ka Amrit Mahotsav: A cultural odyssey unveiling the richness of Northeast India,” on Thursday, at the Amrit Udyan, Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Bengaluru metro’s first-ever driverless train has reached India from China as it was delivered at Chennai port on Tuesday, this driverless train will be transported to Bengaluru once it gets clearance from customs at the port. The train will run through Namma Metro’s Yellow line, which is currently under construction.
12. The gates of a dam in Manipur were shut after a black, oil-like substance was found in a key river in Imphal East district, sparking concerns over possible water contamination. The incident comes less than a month after an oil leak from an unused heavy-fuel power plant polluted another river.

1. RBI will announce its bi-monthly policy amid expectations of continued pause on the key interest rate. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce at 10 AM the decisions taken during the 3-day meeting of Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).

1. The preparations of the Indian Air Force for ‘Exercise Vayu Shakti 2024’ are in full swing. It will take place on February 17 and all frontline aircraft, including the Rafale fighter jets.
2. Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan on Wednesday announced that the Indian armed forces have allocated funds amounting to ₹25,000 crore to fulfil its defence space needs including the development of a constellation of surveillance satellites and the establishment of secure communications networks.
Addressing the DefSat Conference and Expo organised by SIA-India, Gen Chauhan urged India’s private space sector to utilise this opportunity to make the country self-reliant in the emerging dual sector.
3. The Ministry of Defence reportedly signed a $225 million deal with Nadrah Company on Tuesday for supplying artillery ammo to Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by HE Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of the General Authority of Military Industries, KSA, and Ajay Bhatt, State Defence Minister.
4. Defence forces to get 3 new spy planes, Defence Ministry may discuss plan next week: India is planning to development three new spy planes for keeping a close watch on enemy communications and carrying out long-range surveillance missions. The three new spy planes are also known as signal intelligence and communication jamming system aircraft.
The project is being developed jointly by the Defence Research and Development Laboratory and the Indian Air Force.
