‘I am a fan of spine-chilling thrillers myself,’ says Bhoomi Pednekar on doing Durgamati
It’s interesting how new films have been garnering the audience’s attention despite getting an OTT release of late. In the latest instance, Bhoomi Pednekar’s upcoming thriller, Durgamati, will release on Amazon Prime Video in December, and its trailer released recently.
The trailer definitely created a lot of buzz online and the curiosity around the thriller continues to soar. In the film, Bhumi will be seen in a unique role of a government officer, who becomes the target of a sinister conspiracy. Other than Bhumi, the film features a talented ensemble cast, including Arshad Warsi, Mahie Gill, Jisshu Sengupta and Karan Kapadia.
The film is written and directed by Ashok, who is known for his blockbuster Telugu film, Bhaagamathie (2018). It has been produced by Vikram Malhotra and presented by Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar. “I’m super excited about Durgamati and it’s an honour to play the lead in this conspiracy thriller. Being an ardent fan of spine-chilling thrillers myself, I was delighted to be a part of such a gripping story. Also, I am glad to collaborate with Akshay sir again after three years and present this wonderful film for audiences across the world,” says Bhumi.
