1. In a series of bilateral meetings and engagements at the NAM summit in Uganda, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with his counterparts from Bolivia, Azerbaijan and Venezuela on Friday.In his meetings with the leaders, Jaishankar exchanged views on regional, global issues and discussed bilateral relations.

2. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday met with Palestine’s Foreign Minister Dr Riyad al-Maliki in Kampala in the Ugandan capital and held a “detailed and comprehensive discussion” on the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

3. More than 1,80,000 Chinese visas were issued to Indian citizens in 2023, Chinese embassy in India spokesperson Wang Xiaojian said on Friday.

4. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to embark on a significant visit to India in the third week of February.

1. Two high-ranking Iranian military advisers along with three others were killed in a strike launched by Israel on the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday (Jan 20).

2. Pakistan and Iran on Friday agreed to “de-escalate the situation” and strengthen coordination on counter-terrorism as the two sides began to pick threads of tattered ties following their tit-for-tat military strikes in each other’s territory.

3. Iran has successfully placed a satellite in orbits higher than 500 kilometres (310 miles),” Telecommunications Minister Issa Zarepour who said that the satellite weighing 50 kilogrammes was placed in an orbit 750 kilometres above Earth.
