1. After a Qatar court commuted the death sentence of eight Indian ex-Navy personnel, foreign affairs expert Robinder Sachdev hailed India’s diplomacy and said that the new verdict by the Qatari court is a big relief for the arrested personnel and their families.

2. Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Russia next year.

3. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday held a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Indian Ambassador to Russia Pavan Kapoor were present at the meeting.

4. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union will resume in January next year. The Eurasian Economic Union is an economic union of five post-Soviet states located in Eurasia. The five member nations are; 🇷🇺Russia, 🇦🇲Armenia, 🇧🇾Belarus, 🇰🇿Kazakhstan, and 🇰🇬Kyrgyzstan.

5. India and Russia solidified their partnership with key agreements on Tuesday, signaling significant progress in constructing future power units at the Kudankulam nuclear plant.

6. Santosh Jha officially took charge as India’s new envoy to Sri Lanka. Jha has previously served in Sri Lanka, holding the position of Counsellor at the High Commission from 2007 to 2010, where he played a crucial role in handling matters related to commercial and economic affairs.
