1. President Droupadi Murmu will pay visit to Suriname and Serbia from June 4 to 9, the Ministry of External Affairs said. These will be her first State visits after assuming office in July 2022

2. Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni on Monday arrived in New Delhi for a three-day visit to India. Union Minister of State for External Affairs Rajkumar Ranjan Singh received the Cambodian King at the airport.

3. Minister of State (MOS) for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V Muraleedharan will pay an official visit to Brunei and Malaysia from May 30-June 2. MOS would interact with the Indian Diaspora members in Brunei during his stay there. It is estimated that over 14,000 Indians have made Brunei their home.

4. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday held a meeting with Minister of State for Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Affairs Lord Tariq Ahmad and discussed a range of issues including Free Trade Agreement, Indo-Pacific and G20.

5. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during his 3-day visit met Singapore’s Minister for Trade and Industry Min Gan Kim Yong.The two sides held a discussion on industry’s role in the skilling ecosystem as well as in ensuring the future readiness of the workforce.

6. US House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has proposed that India should be made a member of NATO Plus. The panel stated India’s inclusion as the sixth member in NATO Plus would help counter Chinese aggression and boost international security. PM Narendra Modi will visit US next month.

7. India asks UK to ensure security of Indian diplomatic missions and prevent misuse of democratic freedoms.

1. Export bar imposed to keep Tipu Sultan’s rare sporting gun in UK
A rare 18th century decorated gun made in India for Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan, and valued at around GBP 2 million, has been barred from export. The 14-bore gun, dated between 1793 and 1794, was designed for shooting game

2. The Joint Malnutrition Estimates (JME) report, released by UNICEF, WHO, and the World Bank, sheds light on India’s journey in combating child malnutrition. The report presents data on stunting, wasting, and obesity prevalence rates in India and globally.

Baloch political activists organised anti-Pakistan protests in Germany to observe May 28 as Black Day against the Pakistani nuclear tests in Baluchistan.The Baloch National Movement (Germany chapter) staged a protest and rally in Germany’s Gottingen City on Sunday. On May 28, 1998, Pakistan carried out a nuclear test at Chaghai, Balochis tan which led to severe aftermath effects. Its radiation affected people causing several chronic diseases. Children are born with disabilities and other serious diseases such as cancer.

6. At least 50 children, of whom there were two dozen babies, have died at an orphanage in Sudan’s Khartoum since clashes broke out between Sudan’s army and paramilitary force. Malnourishment, dehydration and infections were cited as main causes behind the deaths.

7. Russia strikes Kyiv in daylight after hitting Ukraine’s capital with series of nighttime barrages. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Explosions rattled Kyiv during daylight Monday as Russian ballistic missiles took aim at the Ukrainian capital, hours after a more common nighttime barrage of the city by drones and cruise missiles.
