Punjab suffered their third consecutive loss In the IPL 2021 at the hands of Sunrise Hyderabad. KL Rahul struggled with his captaincy, the same has been reflecting in his teams efficacy on the field. SRH defeated PBKS with straight 9wickets victory.
SRH’s bowling line up did his job quite well and got PBKS all out for 120 runs in Chennai. Khaleel Ahmed who had replaced injured Thangarasu Natrajan, secured 3 wickets and executed his bowling finess with perfection on the Chepauk track. While left arm spinner Abhishek took two wickets (2/24), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Suddarth Kaul took a wicket each and together bowled out Punjab in 19.4 overs.
SRH started off steady with Jonny Bairstow 56 ball 63, thus carefully chasing the target of 121. David Warner supported Jonny by scoring 37 off 37 balls. The dup put up their 5 runs partnership by the end of the powerplay. Punjab’s spinners Murugan Ashwin and Deepak Hooda delivered carefully to build pressure on the batting end. The pressure got to SRH as Fabien Allen brought 73 runs partnership to an end by dismissing Warner.
Kane Williamson too k to the pitch and on himself to keep SRH on track. Williamson and Bairstow added 48 runs to the score board and thus helped SRH to claim the target in 18.4 overs.
Punjab’s skipper to bat first thus proved to be a poor decision. KL Rahul and Mayank Aggarwal, both struggled and were sent off early in their innings.
