The battles that I face inside
are not easy, they test me
every time the story
comes up
yet, I stand firm,
even when I feel weak
in my legs, hands,
and ears,
for, I am strong-headed.
Everything comes and goes,
but nothing can tear my soul
for, that is where my faith lies,
that is where my belief resides.
I have found the God inside,
I have found the love inside,
I have found the light inside.
I am that I am,
and I choose light in
the face of darkness,
I choose hope in
the face of adversity,
and I choose kindness
in the world of selfishness.
