1. 🏅 Asian Games 2026 : The Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games continue in Japan. India’s September 20 schedule includes shooting medal events, women’s cricket semifinal, badminton, hockey, swimming, teqball and other events.
2. 🏏 Women’s cricket: India women face Bangladesh in the Asian Games semifinal on Sunday.

In the Chess Olympiad , the Indian men’s team defeated Spain 3-1, with world champion D Gukesh leading the way with a clean victory over former world championship challenger Alexei Shirov in Samarkand yesterday. Meanwhile, R Praggnanandhaa was held to a draw by David Anton Guijarro, while Nihal Sarin also settled for a draw against Jaime Santos Latasa. In the women’s section, India recorded a 3-1 victory over Mongolia. B Savitha Shri continued her impressive run with her fourth consecutive win, defeating seasoned player Munguntuul Batkhuyag.
4. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju attended the opening Ceremony of the Korfball Premier League 2026 at Thyagaraj Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
5. India will host the Asian Senior Wushu Championships for the first time in 2028, with around 500 athletes from 42 countries across Asia expected to participate in the prestigious continental competition.
6. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) will launch the inaugural U15 Women’s Youth League on 15 October 2026 at the Sporting Planet Sports Complex in Belagavi, Karnataka. The league will feature 16 teams from across India and will conclude with the final on 31 October 2026.
