1. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various government organizations at the 20th Rozgar Mela yesterday via video conferencing.

2. Indian Railways has approved the provision of Kavach Version 4.0 on over six hundred Route Kilometres of the Lucknow Division of North Eastern Railway. The cost of the project is over 250 crore rupees. Railways Ministry said that the approved project will extend Kavach 4.0 coverage across the identified balance sections of the division, strengthening the safety infrastructure available for train operations.

3. The Ministry of Ayush is advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence in Ayurveda and other Ayush systems, building on the Ayush Grid digital platform.

4. Union Home Minister has congratulated the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on its victory in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections. In a social media post, the Home Minister described the mandate as a reflection of the sentiments of the nation’s youth, noting that students from all across the country study at Delhi University.

5. Indian Railways has approved the provision of Electronic Interlocking at seven stations of Solapur Division of Central Railway at a cost of over two hundred crore rupees.

6. Indian Railways has approved 133 Crore rupees for the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) on Udhna-Ukai Songadh Section of Western Railway. The Railways Ministry said that the bridge portion will comprise an Open Web Girder, with an estimated cost of over 91 crore rupees.

7. Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and IT, S Krishnan, today said that India currently accounts for nearly 20 percent of the world’s semiconductor design workforce. He said that the government has placed substantial emphasis on design talent, with an ongoing program to train approximately 85 thousand design engineers.

8. Karnataka approved a five-year Marine Biotechnology Policy for 2026-2031 on 18 September 2026. The policy aims to expand the state’s Blue Bioeconomy, increase marine biotechnology-based enterprise, and create institutional and industrial infrastructure along the Karnataka coast.

9. LPG: From October, biometric Aadhaar authentication will be required for subsidised domestic LPG refills; the government says 27.43 crore active domestic LPG consumers had completed authentication as of September 19.

10. Monsoon withdrawal begins: The southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from parts of West Rajasthan. IMD said cumulative rainfall was about 15% below normal as of 19 September. A low-pressure system over the North Andaman Sea is expected to bring rain to parts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

1. ⚖️ Court deposits: The Supreme Court has asked the Law Commission of India to examine the lack of uniformity in laws and procedures governing money deposited before courts and tribunals.

2. The government has debunked a message circulating on social media claiming that gifts are being distributed by India Post under the Dak Seva Gifts scheme. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau said that the claim is fake and India Post has no connection to any gift, reward, or lucky draw scheme called Dak Seva Gifts.

3. President Droupadi Murmu has appointed 14 Judicial Officers as Judges and Additional Judges of Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand and Karnataka High Courts.

4. Tamil Nadu No need for Navodaya Schools in Tamil Nadu; will pass resolution in special assembly session if needed Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin asserted on September 18, 2026, that the state does not require Navodaya schools.

The remark followed a Supreme Court observation on September 17, 2026, stating that Tamil Nadu should change its anti-Hindi mindset and that states cannot function as separate nations

5. Delhi Police has carried out a district-wide special drive against illegal and overstaying foreign nationals residing in the jurisdiction of Dwarka District. The objective of the drive is to identify illegal and overstaying foreign nationals, verify their immigration status, trace persons involved in criminal activities, and initiate appropriate legal action in coordination with the concerned authorities.

At least Five Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were injured after their truck overturned on National Highway-44 in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

The accident occurred near Chamba Seri when the BSF vehicle, carrying personnel from Kashmir towards Jammu, turned turtle while travelling along the highway.

He was known for an air engagement during the 1965 Indo-Pak War over Kalaikunda in West Bengal, where he flew a Hawker Hunter against Pakistani Sabre jets.
