1. 🇰🇼Kuwait, an oil-rich Gulf nation, has moved swiftly to broaden its defence partnerships by holding its maiden defence committee meeting with India.This development comes shortly after Kuwait signed a defence pact with Pakistan, signalling a clear hedging strategy in its security outlook.The Gulf state is seeking diversified military procurement options through closer ties with India.

2. India is moving towards the creation of a fully integrated, technology-driven border security architecture that will link surveillance systems, artificial intelligence, sensors, drones and command-and-control centres.This network will extend from forward border areas all the way to headquarters in New Delhi.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Strategic Partnership between India and the Kyrgyz Republic during their meeting on the sidelines of the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Bishkek.

4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit.

PM Modi interacted with the ‘Friends of India’ in Bishkek on the first day of his two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan. Four delegations working with India in various fields, including Yoga and Manas Academy, were present on the occasion. PM Modi paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue situated at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Park in Bishkek.

5. India and Bangladesh yesterday discussed issues of mutual interest with the aim of advancing people-to-people cooperation. The discussions took place during a meeting between India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, and Adviser to Bangladesh’s Prime Minister for the Ministry of Finance and Planning, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, in Dhaka.

1. Death toll in Nepal flash flood rises to 903, while more than 4,247 people still missing.

Security personnel involved in rescue operations following devastating flash floods in Nepal are facing major challenges due to shortages of specialised equipment, body bags, ropes and helicopters. The floods, believed to have been triggered by a collapse or avalanche of ice and rock near the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, swept through the Bhotekoshi River corridor, destroying homes, roads and bridges and damaging hydropower projects.

2. Kazakhstan is reportedly set to receive Russian Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jets within the next two years, marking a major leap in its air force modernisation.

3. The announcement of a test freight railway linking Minsk, Moscow, and Karachi has revealed far more than just another infrastructure project. 5. NASA launched the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope on 30 August 2026 at 7:26 a.m. EDT from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The observatory flew on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket and began a three-month transfer to the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2, or L2, about 1.5 million kilometres from Earth.
