The wait is over. Ranveer Singh and Kalyani Priyadarshan’s highly anticipated survival thriller Pralay has officially gone on floors in Mumbai.
The film marks a major milestone for both actors. For Ranveer, it’s his first big project after Dhurandhar. For Kalyani Priyadarshan, it’s her Hindi cinema debut.
According to sources close to the production, Pralay is being mounted as a high-octane zombie survival thriller. The team began shooting in Mumbai this week, with an intense schedule planned in and around the city to capture the film’s gritty, survival-driven tone.
The casting pairs Ranveer’s raw energy with Kalyani’s screen presence, setting up what the makers are calling a “fresh and powerful” on-screen duo.
While plot details are being kept under wraps, Pralay is expected to blend survival drama with horror elements, placing its characters in extreme circumstances where every decision counts.
With filming now underway, Pralay joins the growing slate of big-scale genre films from Bollywood.
The project will be directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, marking his theatrical directorial debut. Jai previously co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere, and is known for his realistic storytelling style.
