Blaine, USA, July 26: Jackson Koivun carded a tournament record 10-under 61 to take the lead heading into the final round of the 3M Open held at TPC Twin Cities. His total score stands at 20-under par with rounds of 64-68-61.
The 21 year old, chasing his first PGA Tour win made six birdies and two eagles as well as he also set the tournament record for a back nine as he shot 8-under on the return journey. Koivun made four of his six birdies and both his eagles on the back nine.
Indian origin player Sudarshan Yellamaraju missed the cut this week while Hero supported Sahith Theegala, Aaron Rai and Akshay Bhatia chose to take a break
The 21 year old Koivun turned pro just last month after the US Open. He was the top ranked amateur having had a stellar college career at Auburn. He is making his 13th PGA TOUR start and third as a professional. He missed the cut at the 2026 John Deere Classic in his professional debut and finished T10 at the ISCO Championship in his most recent start
Ben Kohles and Emilliano Grillo are tied in second place, three shots behind the leader with a score of 17-under par. Kohles and Grillo both carded 5-under 65 in the third round to hold onto their T-2 position on the leaderboard. Kohles had previously carded 62-69 while Grillo had carded 64-67.
Michael Kim, had taken the lead after the second round when he carded a historic 12-under 59. This was only the 15th time in PGA Tour history where a player shot a round of 59. Kim carded a third round of 1-under 70 to find himself T-6 on the leaderboard, five shots behind the leader. Kim made two birdies and one bogey in the third round.
World number one Scottie Scheffler found his form as he carded 7-under 64 including a 7-under 29 on the back nine to charge into the top 10 with one round left to play. Scheffler made seven birdies and one eagle along with two bogeys in his third round. His total score now stands at 14-under par and he is T-9 on the leaderboard.
