bmtc to run buses using 15 methanol blended fuel

BMTC to run buses using 15% methanol-blended fuel on pilot basis from March 12- Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will flag off pilot trials of MD15 buses on the premises of Vidhana Soudha on Sunday, March 12. Buses will run on 15% methanol-blended fuel. On this occasion, a truck that runs on 100% methanol (M 100) will be launched.

1. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha was questioned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) for nearly nine hours in the Delhi liquor policy case. Kavitha has reportedly been summoned again for questioning by the authorities on March 16.

2. The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday claimed that ₹1 crore unaccounted cash was seized and ₹600 crore in proceeds of crime was detected in the raids against Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family members in the land-for-jobs case.

1. Axis Bank has hiked interest rates on fixed deposits of less than ₹2 Cr. It is from 10 March and upon the announcement, the bank has hiked interest rates by 40 bps on tenors of 13 months to 2 years.

The Axis Bank is now giving a maximum interest rate of 7.26% for the general public and 8.01% for senior citizens on a deposit tenor of 2 years to 30 months.

2. The public sector lender Central Bank of India has hiked interest rates on savings accounts and fixed deposits of less than ₹2 Cr. Interest rates will go into effect from 15 March and customers will get a maximum interest rate of 3.30 % per annum.

2. An Indian Firm In Talks With Australia Navy For $5 Million Drone Contract: The drone firm got help from the Indian Navy to develop its products, including the human-carrying ‘Varuna’ drone.
