1. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for India’s two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, to be played from the 15th to the 27th of next month.
2. Nagaland’s Paralympian Hokato Hotozhe Sema has added another feather to his cap by climbing to the World No. 1 in the men’s Shot Put F57 category. According to the latest World Para Athletics Rankings, Subedar Hokato Hotozhe Sema of the 9 Assam Rifles secured the top position. Sema recently became the first Paralympian to be conferred the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
He is also a recipient of the Arjuna Award and has won the bronze medal in the men’s Shot Put F57 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024.
3. In the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, American Jessica Pegula and Naomi Osaka of Japan have reached the Round of 16 in Women’s Singles. Osaka defeated Daria Kasatkina 6-1, 6-3 in just 65 minutes in Round of 32 match. Jessica also dominated Spain’s Bouzas Maneiro in a 6-1, 6-3 victory.
4. In the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, hosts England defeated South Africa by 40 runs in the second semi-final at the Kennington Oval in London to set up a title clash with Australia.
Put in to bat first, England posted 169 for five in their 20 overs.
