1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron will jointly inaugurate the Bharat Innovates Summit in Nice, France on Sunday.

2. External Affairs Ministry summoned Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, Jason Meeks and lodged a strong protest regarding continuing attacks by US naval forces on commercial vessels carrying Indian mariners in the Gulf of Oman. This has already resulted in the tragic and avoidable loss of three Indian lives.

3. Fencing work in the border areas of West Bengal has started. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari informed the media at a programme in Kolkata on the occasion of 12 years of the NDA government at the Centre.

4. The two-day BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Conference began yesterday in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed all delegates and stressed on carrying forward the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

6. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar has extended greetings to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov and the people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of Russia Day.

India is once again revisiting the ambitious plan to construct a nearly 2,000‑kilometre deep‑sea gas pipeline linking Oman to Gujarat across the Arabian Sea.The project, estimated at around ₹40,000 crore, is being positioned as a strategic response to the energy uncertainty caused by recurring crises in West Asia.

1. A Seoul court has sentenced former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to 30 years in prison, after finding him guilty of ordering drone incursions into North Korea to escalate tensions and justify his December 2024 martial law declaration.

2. The United States imposed sanctions on Cuba’s state-owned oil and gas company, escalating pressure on Havana as the Trump administration accused the Communist government of using energy resources to sustain repression and enrich its leadership.

3. In Nepal, eight people were killed and 15 others injured after a passenger bus fell into a gorge at Selfie Danda in Kavre district.

4. In Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), 16 people have been killed and 37 others wounded as the Pakistani army opened fire from AK-47 rifles on thousands of unarmed protesters in Eidgah Ground.

Around 60,000 and 70,000 people had assembled in Rawalakot to raise slogans against Pakistan’s continued occupation and policies in the region.
