1. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar today extended greetings to Italy on the occasion of its National Day.

2. India has dispatched the second tranche of medical assistance to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

3. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said India and the US have finalised most elements of the first phase of the bilateral trade agreement, and negotiations are now focused on a few minor issues, “commas and full stops”. He said that the US team is in New Delhi to hold talks on finalising the first phase of Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA). The talks will take place in New Delhi from June 2-4.

4. India has rejected any role for third parties to resolve its boundary matters with Nepal, days after Nepalese Prime Minister Balendra Shah sought involvement of China and the UK to address the long-standing dispute. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, both sides have established bilateral mechanisms to deal with all aspects of the border matter.

5. Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with a Nepalese delegation led by Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane in New Delhi.

6. President of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, arrived in Mumbai today as part of his four-day visit to India. He was welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma.

1. Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles against Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities overnight, killing 21 civilians and wounding more than 100 others.

United States federal investigators have uncovered a sophisticated underground tunnel running from Mexico into Southern California and seized more than one tonne of cocaine valued at about 45 million dollars. Four people have been charged following a months-long investigation that exposed the smuggling route linking Tijuana, Mexico.
