1. PM Modi called upon the citizens to unite to ease burden on national resources terming the West Asia conflict one of decade’s biggest crises. The Prime Minister was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Sardardham Hostel at Vadodara in Gujarat.
2. The Indian Council of Medical Research and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research launched SEHAT, or Science Excellence for Health through Agricultural Transformation, on 11 May 2026 in New Delhi. SEHAT is a national mission-mode programme that links agricultural research with health outcomes in India.
3. The government informed that there is no shortage of any petroleum products in the country and India has a stock of 60 days of crude oil, 60 days of Natural Gas and 45 days of LPG. This was informed during the 5th meeting of the Informal Group of Ministers on West Asia chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.
4. The Centre said, the stock of fertilisers in the country is more than 51 percent for the Kharif season 2026. Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Aparna Sharma stated.
5. Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying organised a National Conference on “Laboratory Animal Welfare: Policies and Best Practices” in New Delhi on 11 May 2026. The conference was convened by the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals.
6. West Bengal announced the proposed Annapurna Bhandar scheme on 11 May 2026 after the first cabinet meeting of the new BJP government. The scheme is linked to financial support for eligible women in the state and is scheduled for rollout from 1 June 2026. Eligible women are expected to receive Rs 3,000 per month through direct bank transfers. The scheme has been described as a replacement or major upgrade to the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar scheme.
7. National Federation of Churches in India (NFCI) was formally launched on 8 May 2026 at the Fourth National Ecumenical Bishops’ Fellowship Meeting in St. John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. Cardinal Anthony Poola, Archbishop of Hyderabad and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), was named the first Chairman of the NFCI.
8. The Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-GRAMG) Act, 2025, will replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) across India from 1 July 2026. The Act was notified on 11 May 2026, and the VB-GRAMG Bill, 2025, received Presidential assent on 21 December 2025 after passage in Parliament on 18-19 December 2025.
9. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways revised the Build-Operate-Transfer guidelines for highway projects on 11 May 2026. The revised framework allows large funds and institutional investors to bid for BOT projects under the Public-Private-Partnership model.
10. Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today virtually flagged off the Dohrighat – Aunrihar Passenger Train through video conferencing. The new train service will provide affordable, safe and comfortable connectivity to passengers of Mau and Ghazipur Districts.
11. Pune is set to establish India’s first Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in Shivajinagar, a densely polluted area in the central business district. The initiative is being developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation with support from ITDP India and is linked to the Maharashtra Electric Vehicle Policy 2021.
12. The Ministry of Mines is set to launch the second tranche of the auction of limestone blocks in Jammu and Kashmir today in Srinagar.
13. West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said that the state government has decided to transfer land to the Border Security Force (BSF) for erecting a fence along the Bangladesh border. The decision was taken in the first cabinet meeting held today after the formation of the new government.
14. Arrangements are underway for the swearing-in ceremony of NDA leader N. Rangasamy as the Chief Minister of Puducherry. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan will administer the oath of office at a function to be held at Lok Nivas on Wednesday.
15. AIADMK legislature party chooses P. Velumani as leader in Tamil Nadu. In this Assembly session, the new Government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has to prove the majority on or before Wednesday.
16. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heatwave conditions over Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh today. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall is likely to prevail over Assam, Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next two days.

1. The Supreme Court refused to interfere with the Madras High Court order directing CBI probe into the alleged 397-crore rupee scam in the procurement of transformers in Tamil Nadu during the tenure of former Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji between 2021 and 2023.
2. The Madhya Pradesh government has set up a one-member inquiry commission headed by retired High Court judge Sanjay Dwivedi to conduct a judicial investigation into the Bargi Dam cruise accident that took place on April 30 in Jabalpur. The General Administration Department issued an official notification in this regard.

Six people were killed and four others, including two children, were seriously injured when a vehicle carrying tourists met with an accident in the Bhattiyat subdivision of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh.
Among the deceased, five were tourists from Gujarat, while the driver was a resident of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh. The accident occurred in the wee hours yesterday on the Kakira–Lahru road.

2. Tonbo Imaging, the Bangalore-based electro-optics and defence technology firm, is poised to deliver a new generation of advanced multi-mission and panoramic night-vision sights to Indian Special Forces units next month.
3. The Indian Air Force is set to deploy its first TEJAS MK-1A squadrons at forward bases in Rajasthan, notably Nal in Bikaner and Phalodi, strengthening India’s western air defence posture against Pakistan.

India’s first indigenously built Coast Guard hovercraft project is gathering momentum in Goa, marking a significant stride in the nation’s defence manufacturing drive.The construction of Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) is being undertaken at Chowgule & Company Private Limited, with the Ministry of Defence having signed a contract on 24 October 2024 for six such craft.
5. The Indian Army has inducted two new indigenous combat systems under Emergency Procurement (EP-6), marking a significant step in its modernisation drive. The systems include the UAV-Launched Precision Guided Munition (ULPGM) and the AGNIKAA VTOL-1 First-Person View (FPV) Kamikaze Drone.

The film is based on Raam Mori’s 2025 novel Satyabhama, which covers the events that took place after Lord Krishna separation from Radha and his life with his consorts Rukmini and Sathyabhama.
