16. Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). According to the state Water Resources Department, Rajasthan, It aims to harvest surplus water available during rainy season in rivers in Southern Rajasthan such as Chambal and its tributaries, including Kunnu, Parvati, Kalisindh, and use this water in south-eastern districts of the state, this project has received national project status with 90% of the funding for the project, which will be given by the central government. The estimated cost of the ERCP is around Rs. 40,000 crore.

1. CBI to summon Senior AAP leader & Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia for questioning in connection with Delhi excise policy case.

2. An Indian Army jawan was shot dead by suspected Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on Saturday. The deceased, 28-year-old Moti Ram Anchla, was visiting his native place on a leave. He was visiting a market dressed as a civilian when he was shot.

3. The Instagram account of ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh has been suspended again in India. Notably, the separatist leader’s Twitter handle and Facebook account are already suspended in the country.

Amritpal Singh, 29, is a follower of pro-Khalistan slain militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and is dubbed as “Bhindranwale 2.0” in Punjab. He returned from Dubai last year to take the reins of ‘Waris Punjab De’ following the death of its founder, actor-activist Deep Sidhu.

1. Some G20 members said a complete ban on cryptocurrency should be considered, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said. “There were opinions expressed saying that the option of a ban…should also be considered,” Das said. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said there was “almost a clear understanding” that anything issued by an entity other than the central bank was not a currency.

2. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that the key priorities presented under G 20 India Presidency received support from many members during the First G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting that concluded in Bengaluru on Saturday.

3. INS Sindhukesari has become the first Indian submarine to dock in Indonesia.

Features:
It has a displacement of 3,000 tons.
It has a maximum diving depth of 300 meters, a speed of up to 18 knots, and can operate solo for 45 days with a crew of 53. It is naval diesel-electric submarine made in Russia.

These submarines are 70-74 meters long. It can travel at a maximum speed of 10-12 knots when surfaced and 17-25 knots when underwater.
These vessels can carry up to eight surface-to-air missiles and 18 torpedoes or 14 underwater mines.

4. The Indian Army Chief recently initiated the process to end Colonial practices such as buggies, pipe bands and functional ceremonies on retirement. Also, the English names of some of the units are to be changed.

5. Five Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) of the Indian Air Force will participate in a multilateral exercise in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the first participation of the indigenously developed jets in a military wargame in a foreign country. The exercise is scheduled from February 27 to March 17.

An IAF contingent comprising of 110 air warriors has arrived at Al Dahfra air base of United Arab Emirates for participating in the exercise Desert Flag, The IAF would be participating with five Tejas and two C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.
