1. Bangladesh is to import 200 broad-gauge railway coaches from India, with deliveries expected to begin this year and be completed by December 2027, Railways Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam told.
2. The Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, yesterday attended a community reception in Yangon, Myanmar.
On the foundation day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), he underscored the council’s work in strengthening cultural connections with Myanmar, including cultural exchanges, scholarships and Indian music, dance, yoga and Hindi classes at the Mission’s Cultural Centre.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is on a three-day visit to the US, engaged in dialogue with leading thought leaders in Washington DC’s strategic community on the current state and future trajectory of India-US bilateral ties. They also discussed ongoing geopolitical developments and their implications for global energy, food, and economic security.
6. The World Bank has raised India’s growth forecast from 6.3 percent to 6.6 percent for the current financial year, owing to strong domestic demand and free trade agreements. World Bank expects India to remain the primary engine of growth in South Asia .

1. West Asia Conflict: Two-week ceasefire holding despite recent strikes on Lebanon. Hundreds were reported killed or wounded after Israeli airstrikes hit densely populated areas in Beirut and southern Lebanon, drawing widespread international condemnation.
Iran insists Lebanon is part of the ceasefire agreement, while the United States and Israel maintain the truce applies only to direct US-Iran hostilities. Hezbollah also fired rockets toward Israeli border communities, triggering sirens in northern Israel.
2. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it has killed Ali Yusuf Harshi, personal secretary of Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem, in Beirut. Harshi was also a nephew of the Hezbollah chief who heads the Lebanese group backed by Iran.

4. PM of Nepal, Balendra Shah, removes Labour Minister, Dipak Kumar Sah, from his post. Mr Shah dismissed Dipak Kumar Sah from his post as per the recommendation from the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party. Minister Sah is accused of misusing the dignity of his position by getting his wife appointed as a member in the regular work of the Health Insurance Board.
