This April, the city’s vibrant art scene will come alive with a compelling blend of creativity and conscience as Creative Art Affairs presents a dual exhibition that promises both visual delight and social reflection. Titled “Creative Leaves XII”, the group show will run alongside “Reflections of Life on Canvas,” a solo exhibition by the internationally acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, Amb. Dr. (HC) Sonjaye Maurya.
Hosted at the iconic Balgandharva Kala Dalan in Shivaji Nagar, the exhibition will be inaugurated on April 9 at 4:00 pm, in the presence of senior artists and notable personalities from Pune. The show will remain open to visitors from April 9 to April 11, between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm.
“Creative Leaves XII” brings together an eclectic mix of artistic voices. Esteemed guest artists Ranjana Kashyap and Amita Chakrawarty will showcase their works alongside core members of Creative Art Affairs: Dr. Smita Bagawade, Sandhya Salunke, Rajinder Kumar Ponna, and Anindita Ray. Each artist contributes a distinct perspective, creating a rich tapestry of styles, themes, and mediums.
Complementing the group exhibition is the fourth solo show by Amb. Dr. (HC) Sonjaye Maurya, titled “Reflections of Life on Canvas.” Known for his multidisciplinary approach and global recognition, Maurya’s work delves deep into human experiences, emotions, and societal challenges. His art transcends aesthetics, engaging viewers in meaningful dialogue.
Speaking about the exhibition, Maurya emphasizes the role of artists in shaping society: “Artists have a responsibility not only to create but also to address social issues. Through this exhibition, we aim to raise awareness about our culture, promote peace, express love for animals, and give voice to concerns like crimes against women. Art should inspire thought and action.”
