The Red Lorry Film Festival concluded on a resounding high in Mumbai, reaffirming its growing stature as a vibrant platform celebrating global and Indian cinema. With packed screenings, lively conversations and a strong presence of celebrated filmmakers and actors, the festival brought together cinephiles and industry voices for an engaging cinematic experience.

One of the biggest highlights of the festival was a special screening marking 25 years of Lagaan, featuring actor Aamir Khan and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker along with cast members of the film. The screening was followed by an in depth session hosted by BookMyShow co-founder Ashish Hemrajani in conversation with Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowarikar. The session revisited the making and legacy of the iconic film, interesting anecdotes during the filming of the iconic film; drawing enthusiastic participation from audiences.

The festival also welcomed several prominent voices from the industry including filmmaker Zoya Akhtar and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who engaged with audiences during special sessions. Varma additionally discussed his cult horror film Bhoot, sharing insights into the filmтАЩs making and its lasting impact on the genre.

A directorsтАЩ panel featuring filmmakers Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Bejoy Nambiar and Ankit Sakhiya explored evolving storytelling approaches and the creative challenges of filmmaking today. The festival also saw the participation of filmmakers Vishal Furia, Dnayesh Zoting, Swanand Kirkire, Sudhanshu Saria, actress Khushali Kumar, Mrinmayee Godbole, actor Sanjay Suri and Lalit Prabhakar among others, who attended the film festival.

Among other notable appearances, actor Ali Fazal interacted briefly with audiences ahead of the screening of Death on the Nile. Actress Divya Dutta presented the film Little Amelie. Theatre and film stalwarts Barry John, Raghubir Yadav and Virendra Saxena were also present for a special discussion around the classic film Massey Sahib.

The festival further enriched audiences through a series of conversations and learning sessions. Marathi Superstar Sachin Pilgaonkar participated in a fireside chat reflecting on his decades-long journey in cinema, while filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar shared insights into storytelling rooted in realism. Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan conducted a well-attended masterclass on cinematic craft and suspense storytelling.

Such was the audience response during the festival that additional screenings had to be introduced for several international titles.
