1.India delivered fifty more buses to Sri Lanka at the Presidential Secretariat premises, as Sri Lanka celebrated its 75th Independence Day on 04 Feb.

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland had bagged the contract for supplying 500 buses to the Sri Lanka Transport Board, of which 75 buses have already been delivered to the Island nation earlier this year. The order is a part of a Line of Credit extended by the Export-Import Bank of India, under the Economic AssistanceUnion Budget 2023 announced a “voluntary settlement scheme with standardised terms” to amicably end commercial/contractual disputes concerning government undertakings in which arbitral awards are under challenge. 2. The Gujarat government recently signed an agreement with OECD to conduct the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) test for students of government schools.

5. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India, CAG, is hosting the 6th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) SAI Leaders’ Meeting in Lucknow from February 6.

6. As part of a new initiative, Indians travelling abroad may now get a visa appointment at the US embassy or consulate of their destination, according to the US Embassy in India.

7. Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly announced that she will embark on her first official trip to India from February 6 to 7 to deepen bilateral ties and foster stronger partnerships.

8. Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday officially reopened the Olympus building funded by the Government of India.

1. Pervez Musharraf, former President of Pakistan, passed away after a prolonged illness on Sunday at a hospital in Dubai. He was 79.

2. Pakistan’s 19-year-old fast bowler Naseem Shah has been appointed honorary DSP of Balochistan Police. He has also been appointed the Goodwill Ambassador of Balochistan Police.

3. Chile extends state of emergency as devastating forest fires kill 23 people. It is occurred following a blistering heat wave.

4. Sri Lanka’s state-run Litro Gas has increased the price of LPG cylinder of 12.5 kg by 334 rupees to 4,743 rupees. A 5kg cylinder has been increased by 134 rupees to 1,904 rupees while a 2.3kg cylinder has increased by 61 rupees to 883 rupees from 822 rupees.
