Veteran actor Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s most loved icons, has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, earlier this week. This news sent a wave of concern among his fans and colleagues. His wife, actor-turned-politician Hema Malini, has finally shared the first update about his condition, stating that the ailing superstar is recovering and surrounded by family.

Dharmendra’s health is improving, confirms Hema Malini

Speaking to the media outside their Mumbai residence, Hema Malini confirmed that Dharmendra is “doing much better” and is being monitored closely by doctors. “He was feeling a little weak, so we decided to get him admitted as a precautionary measure. There’s nothing serious. He is stable and under good care,” she said.

She added that the family has been receiving an overwhelming number of calls and messages from fans. “We are grateful for all the love and prayers. Dharamji is responding well to treatment, and we expect him to be home very soon,” she said with a warm smile to dispel the growing speculation about the actor’s health.

Family stands by him throughout his recovery.

The entire Deol family, including Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Esha Deol, has been visiting Dharmendra regularly at the hospital. Sources close to the family stated that Sunny and Bobby have cleared their schedules to stay close to their father. A family friend said, “They’re ensuring he gets plenty of rest and minimal stress. Doctors have advised observation and mild physiotherapy.”

Fans were also seen outside the hospital holding posters and chanting prayers for his speedy recovery, reflecting his timeless popularity across generations.
