IMD forecast heavy rainfall over Andhra Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana during the next two days.
The MET Department also forecast squally weather over southwestern parts of east central Arabian Sea and northeastern parts of southeast Bay of Bengal.

1. Former Sabarimala Administrative Officer Murari Babu has been arrested in connection with the Sabarimala gold misappropriation case, after several hours of questioning. He was taken into custody from his residence in Kottayam district by the Special Investigation Team.
2. The Odisha government has decided to hand over the probe of the alleged irregularities in the recruitment of police Sub-Inspector to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved a proposal to hand over the investigation to the CBI.
3. The 24-hour bandh was called by the ‘Tripura Civil Society’, demanding the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord, detection of illegal immigrants, and setting up of detention camps in each district.
4. The Telangana Cabinet on Thursday decided to promulgate an Ordinance lifting the rule disqualifying candidates with more than two children from contesting local body polls.
5. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) in the Aland Assembly constituency during the 2023 Karnataka elections has found that attempts were made to delete names from the voters’ list. Investigators have identified at least six suspects believed to be involved in the scam. According to top Criminal Investigation Department (CID) sources, the suspects were allegedly paid ₹80 per deleted voter name.

A suspected blast damaged a section of railway track between Kokrajhar and Salakati stations in the Alipurduar Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) in Kokrajhar district. The track was fully repaired, following which normal train operations resumed. Patrolling has been intensified in the section.

1. The Defence Acquisition Council under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday cleared proposals worth nearly 79 thousand crore rupees, to enhance the capability of the Armed Forces.
2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) 2025 in New Delhi. New DPM will be effective from 1st of next month, which will facilitate the revenue procurement amounting to approx one lakh crore rupees by the three Services and other establishments under the Ministry of Defence.
3. General Officer Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, reviewed operational readiness and assessed the security dynamics along the Line of Control (LoC) in Krishna Ghati and Naushera sectors in Rajouri and Poonch districts on Wednesday.
4. Indian Air Force Joins Multinational Exercise in Spain: The Indian Air Force is taking part in a multinational air combat exercise hosted by the Spanish Air Force to enhance interoperability and strengthen defense ties.

MoD Returns MRFA Plan, Seeks 75% Indigenous Content: After the Ministry of Defense returned the Indian Air Force’s 114 MRFA fighter jets proposal for revisions citing insufficient detail on local manufacturing and technology transfer, the defense ministry has now mandated at least 75% indigenous content. Front-runner Dassault Aviation must commit to local assembly, supply chain integration, and partnerships with Indian firms, or rival contenders like the Eurofighter Typhoon equipped with Meteor missile could gain traction by offering deeper local production and technology transfer commitments.
7. India Pauses Su-57 Talks with Russia: The Indian Ministry of Defense has reportedly informed Russia that any deal for the Su-57E fighter jet will remain on hold until the Russia-Ukraine conflict concludes, as finalizing such a purchase could trigger CAATSA sanctions by the US, potentially jeopardizing the supply of General Electric engines for India’s Tejas Mark-1A and indigenous fighter programs. Any disruption in this supply could delay inductions by up to 6 years.
